The main objective of the SCAPNG Inc. is to affiliate with World Specialty Coffee Association and promote PNG coffee to the Specialty Coffee Markets and encourage growers and processors to further improve on quality of the coffee produced and qualify for the Specialty Coffee Market. This will maximise opportunities for farmers to derive real income in coffee sales and exports.

The main function for SCAPNG is to promote PNG coffee growers and exporters to participate at the international Specialty Coffee Market which is a highly priced Coffee Market that will benefit the farmers and the PNG economy from higher financial returns in coffee exports.

SCAPNG main domestic events are; (i) Barrister competition to sustain our operations. (ii) Organise coffee processing and management courses to produce quality and specialty brand and source international markets for PNG coffee (iii) promote roasting competition, coffee in good spirit, facilitate barrister training to promote PNG Coffee within and abroad (iv) encourage domestic consumption and (v) promote more local MSMEs to participate in coffee growing and exporting.

Given the need to expose PNG speciality coffee to global specialty market, SCAPNG will represent members of PNG specialty coffee farmers, sellers and exporters to communicate with the global SCA member countries for sourcing coffee, coffee in good spirit, trade promotion, capacity building and participating in international events. The most imminent involvement will be for SCAPNG to be a member of world SCA creating networking and forging regional and global partnership.
